Job Description Job Description Reporting to the Site Manager, the Engineering Maintenance Manager is a critical leadership role responsible for the operation and maintenance of all industrial plant and equipment, installations design and upgrade changes. The key focus of the role is to support Safety, Quality, Production, Continuous Improvement through condition and TPM functions that underpin OEE improvement, inclusive of contractor management, participation and lead where required in project management improvement projects. This role is key for developing the Villawood engineering team. As the Engineering and Maintenance Manager at our Villawood site you will be self-driven with a strong ability to “get things done” safely and effectively, you will uplift capability across the site to ensure and embed a culture of continuous improvement whilst maintaining the highest safety standards. Your key responsibilities will be to: Schedule, supervise and progress the condition and preventative maintenance practices and schedules to efficiently support the production line equipment and supporting services of the manufacturing process to minimise production downtime. Coordinate the requirements for new equipment designs, surveys and maintenance schedules to applicable Australian Standards Co-ordinate all contractor support, services and maintenance activity inclusive of cost and quote establishment, induction completion, JSEA completion and other risk assessments Lead discussion and implementation on engineering design upgrade improvements. Play an active part in highlighting to Site Manager areas for reducing production costs such as waste, setup time etc. Maintain critical spare parts inventory. Lead team and contractors with focus on safety and regular participation in hazard identification and WHSE campaigns that actively drive a culture of behavioural safety. promote improvements to safety systems in use on all equipment and production lines Continue development of team and carryout regular Toolbox Talk meetings on Safety and Quality. Your skills and experience Solid experience in a Maintenance team leadership role within a 24/7 manufacturing environment. Understanding of OEE, Root Cause Analysis and TPM operations Familiar with MEX CMMS maintenance operating system (preferred) Familiar with SAP system (preferred) Highly developed Safety awareness and ability to drive a safety before production culture. Strong mechanical aptitude and an ability to improve plant manufacturing processes. Track record of cost improvement delivery. Results driven with accuracy and attention to detail. Well-developed, effective and collaborative interpersonal skills. Lead effectively in a team environment to drive performance. Critical information seeking and analytical ability to fault find and diagnose problems. Personal drive and results-orientation. Qualifications Qualifications Minimum Trades and Tertiary Qualifications in Mechanical engineering and/or Mechatronics. Experience in a 24/5- 24/7 plastics extrusion operation highly regarded.
