The Opportunity We are looking for Town Maintenance Officers to join our Operations Team to provide daily maintenance of parks, roads, drainage, reticulation systems, and other works in the Kununurra town site and surrounds. This role is responsible for: Undertaking duties relating to maintenance and construction projects that enhance or modify parks, sporting facilities, public open spaces, reserves, cemeteries, streets and Shire ablutions; Participating in roadside preparation and maintenance including tree planting, litter removal, trimming, whipper snipping, and storm clean-up; Performing gardening duties including mowing, fertilising, planting, pruning, edging, reticulation maintenance, and weed control; Operating fleet including truck/trailer and plant equipment to carry out maintenance requirements; Maintaining plant and equipment log books and completing end of day checks; Ensuring that tools, machinery, equipment, and workshop are maintained to a high standard; Attending and participating in team meetings and required training; Following organisational specific procedures and processes; Contributing to team planning and maintaining strong work productivity; Utilising initiative to solve routine problems and improve efficiency. A Certificate III in Civil Construction/Horticulture, current Blue/White Construction Safety Card, and unrestricted WA ‘HR’ Class Driver’s Licence are essential for this role, along with demonstrated experience in the safe operation and user maintenance of equipment. You will also possess good customer service skills, time management skills, and strong communication skills. This pool will be open for a period of 12 months; however, an appointment is not guaranteed.
