Work from anywhere in Australia Board meets Bi-monthly face to face with all travel paid for Need business smarts, reassuring presence + faultless reputation Ageing with its many issues affects everyone… Australia’s ageing population is growing year by year, with millions of individuals now aged 50 or over. Many have gainful work; others volunteer, lend a hand to neighbours and family or pursue other activities that contribute richly to the community. Then there are those who themselves are sick, lonely, isolated or being cared for by stretched families or carers. And this compassionate, Not- For-Profit organisation provides them all with a voice. For decades it has represented Australians in their senior years, working to ascertain what it is they need to help them live fulfilling enriched lives – and finding ways to achieve better outcomes for all. Tackling mature age employment, discrimination, social inclusion, cost of living and a great deal more, it supports the needs, issues, experiences, wellbeing and perspectives of this diverse tapestry of Australian society. It also offers a range of keenly priced commercial services across insurance and finance. Invest your expertise so senior Australians can continue to live rich and satisfying lives. Right now, this Board has several opportunities for experienced Directors with expert knowledge across commercial enterprise, financial services/ insurance, research & advocacy and marketing within membership-based organisations and/or complex NFP operations. With these Directorships – which are remunerated- you will be valued for your contribution as an expert in your own professional field of operations. This should include previous experience in Insurance / financial services, Research and Advocacy, Marketing & Commercialisation and above all being conversant with creating value added services to membership and identifying and commercialising new revenue streams. As multi-skilled and experienced Board Members you will be astute, proactive, well-connected Directors who are quick to see an opportunity for growth and/or commercial sustainability and exceptionally well equipped to grasp and develop it. A first-rate appreciation of governance is a given. As are your excellent communications and interpersonal talents, IT capabilities and general executive management skills. Sympathetic and accustomed to helping others, you bring a positive, person-centric approach, an eye for the entrepreneurial and the type of open, gently persuasive personality that opens doors – in business and in government – to start the right conversations and get things done. If you believe you have what it takes to help this collegiate Board to grow mindfully within a competitive market - without ever compromising its fine service values and mission - then we are very keen to hear from you.
