Community Development (Community Services & Development) Legacy WA are an iconic charity who provide life-changing support and connectivity for veterans families. Established in 1928, we have a wonderful history of service to the community in Western Australia. This is an exciting time to join us as we are growing and evolving to better support the needs of those that we serve. A new position has been created for a Community Programs Specialist reporting directly to the CEO. 12 months fixed-term full-time position, with possible extension Take the lead in creating dynamic community support and engagement programs that address the evolving needs of veteran families, fostering meaningful connections and providing impactful solutions Key role that will help us fulfill our full potential as an organisation supporting veterans families You will be based at Legacy House, West Perth and when required at the Veterans and Families Hub in Rockingham. You will be working within a small, passionate team within a supportive environment and undertaking vital work for these families in need, but work that is incredibly rewarding. Key Responsibilities: Research current and future needs of Legacy WA's stakeholders and develop innovative programs that meet those needs. Assess existing programs to identify gaps and opportunities to expand on our existing work. Develop community programs, ensuring high-quality service delivery and alignment with LWA’s mission and strategic objectives and determine evaluation methodologies. Ensure effective practices are in place to enable risk planning and mitigation, incident reporting and safe work practices/environments to continually improve the safety of staff, clients and visitors. Build and grow strategic relationships with key State Government, funder and corporate stakeholders, aligning Legacy WA's strategic goals and organisational capability to meet changing community need. Lead the establishment of annual budgets with an emphasis on efficiency and effectiveness of resource allocation. Design and deliver effective and responsive plans and services which reflect the expectations of LWA’s community. Ensure the community is involved in setting priorities and for shaping services to address them. Work with Team Leaders to ensure cross-team accountabilities are clear. Provide regular reports and updates to the CEO. Analyse available data and make strategic recommendations. Demonstrated experience in community services program development, implementation, and evaluation. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to manage budgets, resources, and reporting requirements. Deep understanding of the social, cultural, and economic issues affecting the families of veterans. Formal qualification in Social Work, Health Services, Psychology or Community Services would be well regarded. An extensive knowledge of current policy, and industry best practices guiding the provision of community services.
