THE ROLE We are looking for a Senior Consulting or Materials Engineer with 5-10 years' experience in the assessment, protection, repair and service life extension of infrastructure and buildings. Working closely with the Duratec SA Operations team, this is an exciting opportunity for an experienced technical professional to contribute to the growth of the SA technical division, MEnD and broader Duratec business.
This will see you working with new technology and using your innovative thinking to contribute to the overall success of the business by delivering fit-for-purpose and client-focused engineering solutions.
The Senior Consulting Engineer is responsible for contributing to the successful delivery, profitability and strategic growth of our technical services through alignment with the company’s values, technical excellence and supporting business development.
Key Responsibilities
Civil infrastructure and building condition assessments
Site inspection, testing and analysis
Materials durability assessments and planning
Remediation specifications
Corrosion management and cathodic protection design
Digital delivery of condition assessments and defect management using 3D reality models
Prototype and trial innovative technology solutions to help deliver value to our company and clients
Asset maintenance strategies
Supporting our remediation contracting division
ABOUT YOU As a Professional Engineer you have relevant experience in a similar role with specific experience in the inspection and assessment of concrete/steel structures. Alongside this you will have:
Business development experience with the ability to build positive relationships with clients whilst understanding their needs and expectations for successful project delivery
Proactively assess situations to identify potential issues and suggest solutions
Combined technical and practical experience to consult on asset condition and remediation
High attention to detail with excellent written and verbal communication skills
Minimum Qualifications
Relevant tertiary qualification in Civil / Structural or Materials Engineering, or related field;
A current Australian driver’s license
