Until 26 March 2025 unless otherwise determined The Principal Advisor contributes to the day-to-day management of the Office of the Executive Director and provides advisory and executive support to the Executive Director to assist in meeting the strategic and operational goals of the Infrastructure Services Division. About the Role: The Principal Advisor will be a highly organised individual who can work across boundaries, multiple initiatives, and influence others to deliver clear, creative, and future-focused advice in a dynamic environment. The role requires you to investigate and analyse issues, lead and influence others, use your ability to communicate complex concepts, and make informed customer-led recommendations to senior and executive management. Provides expert advice and support on strategic policy issues, projects, and activities within the work unit including preparing written briefs to the Minister, Director-General, Deputy Director-General, and Assistant Director-General. Undertakes a critical review of materials including cabinet documents, internal briefs, caucus liaison, events, and media materials to ensure quality products are progressed by the Office of the Executive Director. Manages the staff, performance, and operations of the Office of the Executive Director including correspondence, budget requirements, and human resource matters. Encourages an environment in which high-quality services are delivered by continually seeking improvements in administrative systems and correspondence processes. Provides executive support services, attends meetings, and follows up action items to support the Executive Director. Briefs the Executive Director, both verbally and in writing, on emergent and critical issues that may require sensitive management or attention. Coordinates and contributes to the strategic direction, activities, and Infrastructure Delivery priorities of the unit and works with a high degree of autonomy.
