Management (Information & Communication Technology) About the Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission The Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission (the Commission) was formed on 1 January 2019. The role of the Commission is to protect and enhance the safety, health, wellbeing and quality of life of people receiving aged care. The Commission is the national end-to-end regulator of aged care services and the primary point of contact for consumers and providers in relation to quality and safety. Our vision is to support a world-class aged care system driven by empowered consumers who enjoy the best possible quality of life. We aim to build confidence and trust in aged care, empower consumers, promote best practice service provision, promote quality standards and hold providers to account for their performance against the expected standards of care. We seek to promote an aged care system that develops safer systems of care, inculcates a culture of safety and quality, and learns from mistakes, while providing the oversight that can assure the community that aged care services are operating as they should, including working on continuous improvement. The purpose of the Strategy and Architecture Section is to provide strategic direction, guidance, and governance for the effective management and optimisation of the Commission’s Digital infrastructure, ensuring that technology investments support the Commission’s goals and priorities. The Director Strategy and Architecture will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to align digital initiatives with business objectives, designing and governing the digital technology landscape, providing governance and oversight for ICT programs and projects, and establishing policies and procedures to ensure secure and compliant use of digital technologies within the Commission. They will interact with the broader business and operational areas of the Commission, to provide advice and ensure the other areas within the Commission are aware of the requirements, processes, and limits for new or enhanced digital services or systems. Position Duties Strategic Planning : Develop and articulate Digital’s strategic objectives, priorities, and initiatives in alignment with the Commission’s goals and Australian Government mandates. Lead the development and implementation of strategic plans and roadmaps to guide the evolution of the Commissions technology infrastructure and capabilities. Corporate planning and budgeting activities are a key output of these activities. Architecture Governance : Establish and maintain robust governance frameworks and processes to ensure alignment between technology investments and business needs. Define and enforce architectural standards, policies, and principles to promote consistency, interoperability, and security across the Commissions digital ecosystem. Technology Investment Management : Provide leadership and oversight in the evaluation, selection, and prioritization of technology investments and projects. Collaborate with business units and stakeholders to assess the strategic value, feasibility, and risks associated with proposed initiatives, ensuring optimal allocation of resources and alignment with the Commission’s priorities. Enterprise Architecture Development : Lead the development and maintenance of enterprise architecture frameworks, models, and artefacts to guide the design, implementation, and evolution of the Commission's digital infrastructure. Define and communicate architectural standards and guidelines to ensure coherence and integration across systems and platforms, with associated business cases. Stakeholder Engagement : Build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including senior leadership, business units, vendors, and government agencies. Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to understand business requirements, gather feedback, and drive consensus on architectural decisions and priorities. Leadership and Team Management : Provide strategic direction, mentorship, and support to the teams within the Strategy and Architecture Section, fostering a culture of excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement. Develop talent, build capabilities, and empower staff to achieve their full potential and contribute to the success of the division and the Commission. Position Eligibility Requirements

(Selection Criteria) : To be successful in this role you will need to demonstrate the following: Extensive experience (typically 7+ years) in strategic planning, enterprise architecture, and technology governance within large, complex organisations, preferably in the public sector. Demonstrated expertise in developing and implementing digital and ICT strategies, roadmaps, and architectures to support organisational goals and priorities. Strong understanding of enterprise architecture frameworks (e.g., TOGAF, Zachman) and methodologies for designing and managing technology infrastructure. Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate effectively across all levels of the organisation. Proven track record of leading cross-functional teams and driving transformational change in digital service delivery and technology management. Relevant qualifications in computer science, information technology, business administration, or a related field. Additional certifications in enterprise architecture and project management are highly desirable. Position Notes: Salary offered will be between $136,307 - $161,381 per annum depending on skills and experience. In addition, 15.4% superannuation will be paid.
